Occupational Therapy Services

Occupational therapy uses a holistic approach when creating individualized programming. At Footprints Center for Autism, we focus on the physical, social, emotional, sensory and cognitive abilities and needs of students. During therapy, we work hard to develop and maintain skills needed to be functional inside and outside of school. Some examples of occupational therapy that can be seen at Footprints Center for Autism are:

  • Handwriting and fine motor skills development
  • Daily living skills such as dressing, brushing teeth, grooming, and toilet training
  • Sensory diets/lifestyle
  • Exercise
  • Facilitating play to encourage social interactions with others
  • Creating transition plans unique to each child
