On May 5, 2020, we come together as a global community… To give. To help. To thank. To heal.
#GivingTuesdayNow is a new global day of giving and unity that will take place on May 5, 2020- in addition to the regularly scheduled day of giving on December 1, 2020.
#GivingTuesdayNow is an emergency response to the unprecedented need caused by Covid-19. The day is designed to drive an influx of generosity, citizen engagement, business and philanthropy activation, and support for communities and nonprofits around the world.
At a time when we are all experiencing the pandemic, generosity is what brings people of all races, faiths, and political views together across the globe. Generosity gives everyone power to make a positive change in the lives of others and is a fundamental value anyone can act on. It’s a day for everyone around the world to stand together and give back in all ways, no matter who or where we are.
Footprints Center for Autism (FCA) is a nonprofit organization that provides services for children with autism. Consistency and routine are important for the kids in our program, so when our physical location was closed due to the Covid-19 pandemic on March 16th, we made sure we did everything possible to have virtual sessions up and running starting March 17th, 2020- and we’ve been teaching and intervening remotely ever since! While not an ideal learning environment for our kids, we’ve done everything possible to continue to provide comprehensive, collaborative, and child-centered programming to our students in this virtual capacity.
Because we are a nonprofit organization, we’ve always relied on contributions from individuals and corporations to keep our operations running smoothly in order to provide the best possible care for our students. Now, more than ever before, we are very much in need of donations to keep things operating in our new reality. All #GivingTuesdayNow donations will go towards general operating support for our program. These donations will allow our teachers to keep teaching, our therapists to keep intervening, and our students to keep on learning and growing!
